2005
The Beginning
The Beginning
CIILOCK wasn’t born as a business plan. It was born as a rebellion.

A vision. A goal. A shared obsession—sparked in late-night conversations between engineers, fuelled by stories from the field, and by solutions that should have existed—but didn’t. We set out to unshackle industries that had grown too comfortable with compromise. We saw it everywhere—smart people, good companies, entire sectors starved of engineering. Not because they lacked ambition, but because they lacked the tools, the partners, and the right kind of pressure to make things better.

Fabricators who wanted more found it too hard. Too costly. Too complicated. So they didn’t. Innovation stalled—not for lack of ideas, but for lack of someone willing to get in the trenches and build a better way. And so, we made it our mission. A singular, unrelenting mission to challenge the status quo—and prove that engineering done right could unlock a new kind of progress.

Anchoring Our Ambitions
First CiiLOCK HQ
A vision needs space to grow.

Later that year, we established our first facility in Hallam, Australia—giving form to the ambition that began on paper and in conversation.

From day one, we focused on what others overlooked: custom polymer mouldings—small components, deeply embedded in systems, yet critical to performance. These were the hidden heroes. And we treated them with the respect they deserved. We didn’t just design the part—we engineered the tooling, optimised material flow, cooling, and post-processing. We handled the manufacturing, stocking, and supplying these parts to remove friction from the industry. By taking ownership of the detail, we freed our partners to focus on dreaming up what they wanted.
Early 2006
Setting New Standards
Setting Standards
As engineers, we believe that something can be done better, then it should be done better - it must be done better! And we were ready to prove that detail wasn’t a nuisance—it was the path forward. From the very beginning, we have been committed to designing hardware that added value, not noise. We swore never to make “me-too” products. Not just another latch. Not just another hinge. Only what should have existed all along—and didn’t. We listened closely to fabricators and installers, and we created targeted hardware that solved real, practical problems. By 2006, we were launching an increasing number of components that simplified installs, reduced errors, and elevated performance.

Engineering is Our Sport
Engineering is Our Sport
At CIILOCK, engineering isn't just what we do—it’s how we play.

From in-house design challenges to full-blown engineering experiments, we compete to outthink, outbuild, and out-perform. We don’t just reward results—we celebrate curiosity, agility, and the courage to challenge what’s already working. We build with intent, race to out-design each other, and treat every problem like a game worth winning. Because for us, precision and performance don’t come from hierarchy—they come from energy, creativity, and a team that thrives on pressure. This spirit fuels everything we do. It’s why CIILOCK products don’t just work—they win.
2009
A Shift in the Market:
The Mother of All Rollers
Introducing MOR
In 2009, we developed the Mother of All Rollers—an elegantly engineered solution inspired by the load-bearing principles of Roman arches. It let doors move more smoothly, carry more weight, and feel lighter than anyone thought possible. But the road there wasn’t easy.

We’d seen too many rollers on the market fall short—noisy, inconsistent, weak under pressure. And truthfully, our first few attempts didn’t meet our own standards either. So, we set ourselves a challenge: to create something entirely different. Internally, we gave the project a name—not a technical name, but a dare. The Mother of All Rollers. It was part joke, part declaration. We were setting the bar deliberately high. And when the final form emerged, we realised something: we’d done it. We couldn’t bring ourselves to call it anything else. The name stuck - because it fit. We had truly created the Mother of All Rollers.
Since 2010
The Art of Door Motion
The Art of Door Motion
As our hardware solved more of the everyday pain, the problems we faced became deeper—more systemic. So, we shifted too. We stopped thinking in parts and started thinking in systems. Not just how doors move, but how motion itself should feel. Today, we design and build what we call door motion systems: complete, interrelated hardware assemblies that define how a door moves, locks, engages, and performs. They’re not just parts; they’re integrated solutions that support the entire system—from precision manufacturing to effortless user experience.
2010
Our New Home
The Art of Door Motion
By 2010, it was time to build something that reflected who we were becoming.

We designed and constructed our new facility on Technology Circuit, Hallam—purpose-built to support our growing product lines, deeper R&D work, and tighter integration between design, manufacturing, and testing.

With our own test lab on site, we could validate ideas faster, experiment more freely, and push boundaries without waiting on anyone. We brought everything under one roof—engineering, prototyping, fulfilment—so we could stay focused, responsive, and in control. It wasn’t just a new address. It was the infrastructure for the next chapter—where door motion would stop being a collection of parts and start becoming a system.
Since 2013
Global Expansion
Global Expansion
And the industry noticed. Not through ads or flashy launches, but through word of mouth—through engineers telling engineers that there was a new way of doing things. A better way. Our systems now appear in fabrication plants across the globe supported by branches located in China, the United Kingdom and South Africa. Not because we pushed into those markets, but because they pulled us in. Because they saw something in our business model, our responsiveness, and our obsession with getting the details right.
2013
UK Grand Opening
Hinckley Branch
As our vision grew, so did our ambition. We began to think global. Imagining how our systems, our way of engineering, might serve fabricators beyond Australia. And when it came time to take that first step, the UK was the natural progression. It was, in more ways than one, our home turf. And we knew we could offer the same level of excellence there as we had in Australia. In 2013, we opened our branch in Hinckley. It marked the beginning of our global expansion—but it felt less like a launchpad and more like a return to familiar ground. A place that understood the quiet strength of good engineering—and welcomed it.
Beyond Just Windows & Doors
Beyond The Average
We don’t just create for doors and windows. We’ve designed components for truck side curtains, operable acoustic walls, and other systems where performance and practicality matter just as much. Our work stretches across industries, not because we chase opportunity, but because we’re drawn to complexity—and we’re committed to unshackling industries from the limitations they’ve grown used to. Every decision we make is grounded in continuous improvement.
2016
China Expansion
China Expansion
As demand grew, so did the need for smarter, more scalable operations. We knew that to serve our customers better—and to stay ahead of the curve—we needed to be closer to the world’s most advanced manufacturing and supply ecosystems.

In 2016, we launched CiiLOCK China. This wasn’t just an export office. It was a full-scale operation, complete with local manufacturing and sales divisions. It gave us the capability to move faster, respond quicker, and build with greater precision at scale. It also meant we could serve our global markets more reliably, with the same obsession for quality and detail that defined our work in Australia and the UK.
2018

NATA Accreditation
NATA
For us, quality has never been a box to tick—it’s a mindset. So when we built our own in-house testing lab, it wasn’t to meet minimum standards. It was to raise them.

In 2021, we proudly achieved NATA laboratory accreditation. It marked a new chapter in our testing capability, with a facility designed to validate entire systems—from wind and water testing under AS2047, to rigorous performance testing of individual components. It gave our customers confidence, but more importantly, it gave us the platform to keep pushing boundaries—with data, with discipline, and with absolute trust in what we build.
2022
First Showroom
Showroom
In 2022, we opened our first showroom in Melbourne—a space designed not just to showcase products, but to tell a story.

A story about motion. About engineering. About what happens when you care deeply about how things work and how they feel. For fabricators, architects, and curious minds alike, it became a place to experience precision firsthand. Not in brochures or renders, but in reality—doors that glide, locks that engage with purpose, and hardware that quietly elevates everything around it.

It wasn’t about being flashy. It was about being real.
